Subject: Upgrade to Emory Healthcare Firewall Wednesday, April 14

To protect the Emory Healthcare network, the firewall will be upgraded with the latest release from the vendor beginning at 7pm on Wednesday, April 14. We anticipate the upgrade to be complete by 8pm.

If you are remotely connected to the EHC network through the firewall when the upgrade is happening, you may be disconnected. If you are disconnected, you will be able to reconnect immediately.

Similarly, batch jobs or backup procedures that are transferring data between the Emory University network and the Emory Healthcare network during the 7pm‑8pm time frame may experience "hiccups" in connectivity, so please check your job statuses.

After the upgrade is complete, SecuRemote users will need to update their site to continue to communicate with the EHC network. Failure to do so will result in connectivity loss until the site is updated. Instructions on updating the site are outlined below.

Updating the SecuRemote site

Note: You must have administrative rights to your PC to make these changes. Please contact your desktop support person if you do not have the necessary permissions to install/update software on your computer.

1) Make sure you are connected to the Internet

2) Left-click the SecuRemote icon located in the systray.

The systray is located on the Start menu bar to the right-hand side of the screen. The SecuRemote icon looks like an envelope with a gold key. Left-clicking the icon will bring up the SecuRemote window.

3) In the SecuRemote window, right-click the icon labeled "Emory Healthcare"

(Note: you may have labeled your Emory Healthcare site differently. For example, yours may be listed as the IP address 163.246.2.254...just be sure you select the Emory Healthcare site if you have more than one site defined in SecuRemote.)

4) In the selection window, click "Update Site".

5) Click the "Update" button.

6) Click OK.

7) You may close the SecuRemote window and should now be able to connect to Emory Healthcare.
